Let’s take a look at the new releases for the week. On the top on the list for most gamers this week will most likely be the uber-stylized RPG-Shooter Borderlands (PS3, 360), FIFA Soccer 10 (All) for futbol-heads, and Way of the Samurai 3 (PS3, 360) for, well, samurai lovin’ gamebots. Check out the full list for all the games to expect this week. Read »
Recently, I had the pleasure of spending some time in Japan for the Tokyo Game Show. Oddly enough, I didn’t come back with much swag, but one of the items that somehow managed to make it’s way into my bag was a “cutsie” little folder with four anime-esque girls on it. As I stared in bewilderment at the colorful folder, the title caught my eye and I couldn’t help but laugh. It was for Poupee Girl DS. Sure, it might be pronounced some fancy way, but seriously, tell me you didn’t just chuckle. Read »

Darksiders has an interesting premise. As the first horseman of the apocolypse, War, you were deceived into beginning the battle between Heaven and Hell, resulting in the apocalypse. As a punishment for breaking that “sacred rule,” you are tasked with combing the tattered post-apocalyptic Earth in search of the truth behind the deceit. All the while you are hunted by vengeful angels and have to battle the demons that now rule the world.
Mouth watering, we know. But we also know that games are nothing without a solid combination of storyline and gameplay. If you didn’t guess by the title, we played it. Preview inside. Read »

If it hasn’t been made painfully apparant by now, dual stick shooters can be pretty entertaining. This is evidenced by Xbox Live Arcade hits such as Geometry Wars and Assault Heroes among sequels and other similar playing hits, including a certain indie zombie killing title we just reviewed. But in an already saturated market, is it overkill to bring yet another into the scene? Square Enix doesn’t think so, and they’ve created 0 Day Attack on Earth to prove it. Hands-on impressions and some screenshots after the jump. Read »
It isn’t any secret that Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts 2 have been the poster-children of the Disney/SquEnix series. Fans have been eagerly awaiting another Kingdom Hearts game that captures that magic, and though each of the spin-offs adds to the series as far as story and their individual style of play, they have otherwise been left waiting.
For the Japanese market (and US market soon), Birth by Sleep aims to give you that magic on PSP and from what we played, it delivers. Hit the jump for our hands-on impressions of Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep. Read »
Tis the season for special edition consoles and memory upgrades. TGS has already shared announcements regarding their upcoming bundles, but we half expected that given the track record of the PS2. What we didn’t expect, at least at the Tokyo Game Show, was a sneaky little placement of a special edition, 250GB Final Fantasy XIII Slim PS3… At this point in the game, anything to do with the console wars are getting rather tiresome, and the proverbial “measuring tape” can only go so long, right? Either way, this PS3 looks pretty great, probably more-so to those anticipating the release of FFXIII (of which we have a hands-on preview en route). Pics inside… Read »
