E3′09: Super Mario Galaxy 2 Trailer

Posted by DeLaCole On June - 3 - 2009ADD COMMENTS

smg2During Nintendo’s E3 press conference, they announced a sequel to one of the few great games for the Wii: Super Mario Galaxy. The follow-up game looks almost identical to it’s predecessor, but in this case, that is a good thing. Overall, the gameplay seems to follow the original Super Mario Galaxy fairly closely, with a few new abilities thrown in. The most exciting of these is the ability to save the galaxy with one of Mario’s (and our) oldest friends: YOSHI!!! This was a great announcement for Nintendo this year, and we hope they continue to expand on their successful company namesakes. Check out the trailer for a glimpse of the 3D action.

E3′09: Project Milo Impressions

Posted by Dutch On June - 2 - 20092 COMMENTS

If you’ve been following this years E3 coverage, you know what I’m talking about.  At the Microsoft press conference, Peter Molyneux revealed that his studio has been working on the first completely interactive character in gaming, coined Milo.  Using Microsoft’s “Project Natal,” Milo knows who you are by your face and voice, in addition to being capable of recognizing your emotions, and can hold genuine conversations.  Think of it this way, if you’ve played Seaman on the Dreamcast and multiply it by a creepy factor of a thousand,  you might come close to realizing how truly, eerily, interactive this is.  It’s difficult to put words to something like this, rather, hit the read link for a video and see for yourself.
